PLN 20

In the article "Possible shoe bomb incident on Denver-bound flight" by Felisa Cardona, Jeffery Leib, and Daniel Petty, is about a United Airlines flight from Washington that was forced to land in the Denver International Airport because of a man from Qatar who allegedly tried to light his shoes on fire. The man, Mohammed al-Modadi, was later said to have been seen trying to smoke a cigarette on the plane but no explosives were found. This is important to the world because first of all it shows somewhat of a "stereotype". People believe that because of your race you are going to do something outrageous to harm others. Also, it shows the insecurity of a country towards one person. This is important to education because the architects of the plane and the security officers ways to make the plane safer and how to make things more peaceful and less cautious. This is important to me for many reasons. First, a relative or friend could have been on that plane and if there was a terrorist attack they could have been killed. Another reason is because the plane could have been attacked or bombed over my house and killed me and my family. Lastly, there could have been simultaneously terrorist attacks in Colorado.
